Between April 2011 and March 2012, Concordia Hospital, located in Winnipeg Canada, provided 1,507 hip and knee surgeries.  Their focus on hip and knee replacements led to the creation of a 60,000 square feet (5,600 m2) Hip and Knee Institute.  The Hip and Knee Institute houses an assessment clinic, digital imaging, research laboratory, training, and a pre-habilitation clinic.

People who are prepared for surgery have better hospital experiences, fewer complications and a smoother recovery.

To help their patients be better prepared for their surgery The Hip and Knee Institute posted a seven-part series of videos on their website so patients could watch at home.  The videos are specific to the Concordia Hospital experience however there is a wealth of information that is common to the any hospital experience and the surgery in general.
